STEM Intiative in India
What is STEM education?
STEM education (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics, Robotics) is an interdisciplinary programme that provide a platform for innovation and creativity.
Which is now being made a part of the curriculum right from elementary school.
STEM education is different from the regular science and mathematics. It talks about the application of these techniques into the real world, i.e., an integrating applied approach and cohesive learning techniques.
Why STEM education is essential in a growing economy like India?
Globalization and International trade require several nations and countries to compete with each other based on their economies. Growing economies like India work in diverse sectors which includes different industries that affect the global marketplace.
Microeconomic studies establish nearly universally that there are appreciable returns to investment in the education sector. These returns are mostly in the form of reduced unemployment levels and accelerated earnings.
Taking these studies into consideration, the social returns that a country receives justify the economic development for the support of education. With STEM education coming into the picture, more opportunities are being created contributing to the GDP growth. However, the economical advancements come into the picture in the long run.
