Persephone- Queen in making
Persephone- Queen in making
The Myth
Persephone was a beautiful goddess, daughter of Zeus and Demeter, often seen gathering flowers.
Hades, the god of the Underworld, was captivated by her beauty and sought to make her his wife.
With Zeus's permission, Hades abducted Persephone and took her to the Underworld.
Demeter was devastated by the loss of her daughter and refused to allow crops to grow. The earth became barren, and humanity faced the threat of starvation.
The gods, including Zeus, intervened to prevent a global famine.
A compromise was reached, Persephone would spend half the year with Hades in the Underworld and the other half with Demeter on Earth.
This arrangement is believed to explain the seasons, with Persephone's descent into the Underworld marking the winter and her return to Earth marking the spring.
Rise of Queen
Persephone is the quintessential good girl, full of light, radiance, and utter innocence as one who has yet to taste the medicine of the darkness.
The transitioning from a naive young Maiden into a wise and fertile Queen is perhaps the most relevant, important, and necessary mystery for all women to deeply know.
Unless and until we truly face the demons that hide in our own inner Queendoms, the role of Queen will continue to be filled with shadows, manipulations, distortions, and fears.
As time went on, Persephone healed and fell in love with Hades and they built an empire which they ruled together as equals.
