Happy Hormones

Happy harmones

Oxytocin,  serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins are often referred to as "happy hormones" because they are neurotransmitters that play a role in promoting positive feelings and well-being.

Dopamine: Often called the "reward molecule," dopamine is linked to motivation, pleasure, and the brain's reward system. It motivates us to pursue goals and experience satisfaction when we achieve them. Imbalances can contribute to addiction and mood disorders.

Serotonin: Serotonin acts as a mood stabilizer, promoting feelings of happiness, well-being, and satisfaction. It also plays a role in sleep regulation and digestion. Low levels of serotonin are associated with depression.

Oxytocin: Known as the "love hormone" or "bonding hormone," oxytocin facilitates social connection, trust, and attachment. It is released during physical intimacy, social bonding, and maternal-infant interactions.

Endorphins: Endorphins are natural pain relievers and stress reducers. They are released during activities like exercise, eating, or exposure to pain, inducing feelings of euphoria and well-being.
